The foundation stone for construction of office and residential complex for Pay and Accounts Office (Ors) , Ladakh Scouts, Leh was laid at on 10th July, 2008 by Smt Bulbul Ghosh, IDAS, CGDA. The project is expected to incur a cost of Rs. 5.62 lacs. The site of the project is near new Ladakh Scouts Regimental center on Leh-Srinagar highway and is well connected with main market/city. This project is the second DAD project under progress at Leh. The occasion was graced by Lt Gen V K Ahluwalia, AVSM, YSM, VSM, GOC 14 Corps, Smt Nita Kapoor, PCDA (NC) and other dignitaries. Leh is a hard, non-family station situated at an altitude of approximately 12,000 ft above the sea-level. After the completion of these two projects the requirements of DAD for official and residential accommodation will be catered to a great extent.
On this occasion, the CGDA in addition to other issues spoke about the urgent need for automation in the DAD and exhorted the DAD officers and staff to provide better services to the Defence services/Establishments. She also thanked the Defence services for providing logistic support to DAD at Leh.
